Funny enough, I remember sitting in my basement in the early 1990's with a dying Seagate ST-225 (20MB, MFM hard drive). I had the cover off and was manually tapping the actuator arm to ensure enough contact with the plates to transfer data, otherwise, my Commander Keen saves would have been completely lost.
Storage has definitely come a long way – not only in capacity, but also in price.
