HP Confirms Windows 10 Mobile x3 Elite Handset Availability on 29 August

Today it was confirmed by HP that their new Elite x3 Windows 10 Mobile handset will be available in the US beginning on 29 August and in other regions/countries later this year.

This handset, which was first unveiled at Mobile World Congress a few months ago, takes advantage of Windows 10’s Continuum feature which allows you do dock this handset and use it like a desktop system using a full size monitor, keyboard and mouse.

The device will cost $699 here in the US and the dock, which will provide connectivity to your desktop peripherals, can be bundled for an additional $100.

This device is also no lightweight when it comes to specs:

  • Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 at 2.15 GHz
  • Dual SIM based on country/region
  • 5.96 inch screen with AMOLED display
  • 64GB storage
  • 4GB RAM
  • Iris and Fingerprint Reader for biometric authentication
  • 4.150 mAh battery with wireless charging
  • 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
  • MicroSD up to 2TB
  • 16MP Rear and 8MP Front facing cameras

According to HP there will be one additional bundle which will include a Lap Dock in addition to the handset and dock but availability was not provided.

There is no doubt that HP has targeted this device and its accessories to companies and organizations however, word is that HP will not refuse to sell this hardware to consumers either.

I am sure there are some serious Windows enthusiasts who will not hesitate to layout the cash for it either.
