How does the Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) OS Deployment Feature Pack handle multiple partitions on a machine?

A. Version 1 of the SMS OS Deployment Feature Pack can operate only on the first partition for both capture and restore and ignores other partitions. During a capture, it captures only the C drive content, and during a restore, only wipes and writes to the C drive. Any other partitions are left untouched (although other utilities such as the User State Migration Tool might write to other partitions if they have more free space than the C drive). Be careful with brand new deployments, because some implementations perform a DISKPART clean, which would remove all partitions from selected disks and cause data to be lost on other partitions
