How do I remove the Internet Explorer icon from the desktop?

A. This can be done from the advanced options of Internet Explorer. For Internet Explorer 4.0:

1. Start Internet Explorer
2. From the View menu select Internet Options
3. Click the Advanced tab
4. Deselect "Show Internet Explorer on Desktop"
5. Click OK
6. Restart the machine

If you are using Internet Explorer 5.0 select 'Internet Options' from the Tools menu.
