A. By default, the Parental Controls feature of Vista is disabled on domain-joined machines, but you can enable it by performing these steps:
- Run Group Policy Editor (GPE--Start, All Programs, Accessories, Run, gpedit.msc).
- Expand Local Computer Policy, Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Parental Controls.
- Double-click "Make Parental Controls control panel visible on a Domain" and set it to Enabled, as the figure shows.
- Click OK, and exit GPE.
- Log out and log back in for the change to take effect. Parental Controls are available for only the Vista Home and Ultimate editions, not the Business editions.
