A. XP adds the "Comments?" text to all dialog boxes. When you click Comments?, the system opens a dialog box that lets you communicate with Microsoft. However, this text can be distracting and, in some cases, causes problems with the minimize, maximize, and shutdown buttons.
You can remove the Comments? link or change its text. Perform the following steps:
- Start regedit.exe.
- Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop.
- Set LameButtonEnabled to 0 to disable the text (8—enabled—is the default). Or, if you don't want to disable the text, leave LameButtonEnabled set to 8 and set LameButtonText to the string you want the system to display.
- Close regedit.
- Log off, and then log back on for the change to take effect.
