How can I check the name of my dynamic disk group?

A. If you have upgraded to dynamic disks to take advantage of their increased functionality (e.g., RAID), the system has assigned a name to your dynamic disk group, which is usually the machine name with a suffix of Dg0. To check the name, perform the following steps:

  1. Start regedit.exe.
  2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\dmio\Boot Info\Primary Disk Group.
  3. The Name value is the dynamic disk group name.
  4. Close regedit.

Microsoft advises against changing this name.
