A. When you type a URL in Internet Explorer (IE), the system automatically completes known entries, which are located in the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs. To back up this key, perform the following steps:
- Start regedit.exe.
- Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer.
- Select TypedURLs.
- From the Registry menu, select Export Registry File.
- In the Save In box, select the location where you want to save the key, give the key a name, and click Save.
To restore the key, perform the same steps, but in step 4, select Import Registry File, and select the file you created in step 5.
