How can I back up the Internet Explorer autocomplete URLs?

A. When you type a URL in Internet Explorer (IE), the system automatically completes known entries, which are located in the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs. To back up this key, perform the following steps:

  1. Start regedit.exe.
  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer.
  3. Select TypedURLs.
  4. From the Registry menu, select Export Registry File.
  5. In the Save In box, select the location where you want to save the key, give the key a name, and click Save.

To restore the key, perform the same steps, but in step 4, select Import Registry File, and select the file you created in step 5.
