Finding the Files for Which a User Has Access

Q. How can I find all files for which a user has access in Windows Vista?).

A. The Vista Icacls command with the /findsid parameter can find all files that contain a specific SID in the files Access Control List (ACL), as this example shows:

D:\temp>ICACLS *.* /findsid savilltech\administrator /t /c
SID Found: test.txt.
SID Found: test2.
Successfully processed 5 files; Failed processing 0 files
You can also use the fsutil command, as follows:
fsutil file findbysid savilltech\john d:\documents
