Enter the "Reader to Reader Roundup" Sweepstakes

Are your folders full of functions that never fail, routines that you reuse over and over, and scripts that simplify your job and save your sanity? Have you ever read a scripting article and thought to yourself, "Hey, I've written code similar to that, except it…." If so, have I got an offer for you.

For a limited time, you can participate in the "Reader to Reader Roundup" sweepstakes. To enter, all you need to do is send me your code and tell me the story behind it. You don't need to write anything fancy. Just tell me what prompted you to write the code, what it does, and how to use it. The code can be written in VBScript, JScript, Windows shell, or PowerShell.

If you participate in this special sweepstakes, you'll be entered into a drawing. Three names will be randomly chosen; these winners will each receive a $25 Amazon.com gift certificate. I'll announce the winners of the drawing in the August 1 issue of Scripting Pro VIP Update.

But wait. There's more. Our technical editors will be reviewing all the stories and code sent in as part of this special sweepstakes. If they like your story and the code works as promised, we'll publish your story as a Reader to Reader article in Scripting Pro VIP. Not only will you and your code be in the spotlight, but you'll also receive $100.

So, don't delay—send me your story and code today. You don't even have to pay postage if you email it to [email protected]. Just make sure you send it to me by Friday, July 27.

And now, here's all the fine print that, if it were on TV, would be so small and scroll across so fast that you couldn't read it:

  • Email your story and code to [email protected]. Please put "R2R Roundup" in the subject line.
  • The code can be written in VBScript, JScript, Windows shell, or PowerShell. Please provide the actual code file. To avoid trouble with our antivirus and spam filters, please place your code in a .zip file or add a .txt extension to it (e.g., MyCode.vbs.txt).
  • Please include your full name and phone number.
  • All stories and code must be received by July 27.
