CES 2016: Lenovo rolls out eight new devices

Lenovo is debuting eight new devices at CES 2016. To keep them straight, here is what you need to know about each new product:

The YOGA 900S 12" LAPTOP

How much does it cost? It starts at $1099

When can you buy it? March 2016.

What's the big deal? It's skinny. Seriously -- this thing is an estimated 0.5" thick and weighs 2.2 pounds. It sports a watchband hinge (Rod Trent was a fan of this feature) and a battery charge estimated to last through 10 hours of video playback. According to Lenovo, the Yoga 900s " it now supports an optional active pen so artists and note-takers alike can unleash their doodles and to-do lists, or annotate webpages on the Microsoft Edge browser using the touch screen."

The IDEAPAD Y900 17" LAPTOP

How much does it cost? It starts at $1999.

When can you buy it? June 2016

What's the big deal? This laptop is aimed at gamers and the tech specs show it: a quad core 6th Gen Intel Core i7 K-series processor for ultimate gaming performance, NVIDIA® GTX 980M graphics and a mechanical backlit multi-color keyboard

The IDEACENTRE Y900 RE DESKTOP

How much does it cost? It starts at $2299.

When can you buy it? June 2016.

What's the big deal? It's Lenovo's current IdeaCentre Y900 desktop computer, only it's got "Razer Edition styling, bundled Razer Chroma keyboard and mouse, and Razer Chroma multi-color lighting effects."

THE Y27g CURVED GAMING MONITOR

How much does it cost? It starts at $549.99, so basically $550.00.

When can you buy it? June 2016

What's the big deal? According to Lenovo: "To help gamers fully immerse themselves and push the boundaries of their gaming experience, we also created our first 27-inch FHD VA curved gaming panel. The Y27g Curved Gaming Monitor, is one of the first curved gaming monitors available today, has 144 Hz fast refresh rates and 8 ms response time."

THE Y27g RE CURVED GAMING MONITOR

How much does it cost? It starts at $599.99, so let's just call it $600, right?

When can you buy it? June 2016

What's the big deal? This is the same monitor as above, only for $50 more, you get a special Razer Edition with "the brand’s distinct Chroma lighting effects."

THE IDEACENTRE 610S DESKTOP

How much does it cost? It starts at $849 with an optional detachable projector

When can you buy it? June 2016

What's the big deal? You can turn your Windows 10 PC into a video projector, which means that the design maven in your house can finally win the "let's get rid of the TV" fight because they have the means to show streaming and digital video on the attractive flat surface of their choice. How you feel about having a TV may or may not influence whether or not you want to point out this feature to the people you live with.

THE IDEAPAD 700

How much does it cost? Both the 15" and 17" laptops start at $799.

When can you buy it?  June 2016.

What's the big deal? According to Lenovo: ""Both the 15" and 17" ideapad 700 boast beefed up features at a great value. Running Windows 10, it has up to the latest 6th Gen Intel Core i7 Standard Voltage processors that deliver incredible performance and power efficiency."

THE IDEAPAD 710S

How much does it cost? This 13" laptop starts at $799

When can you buy it? July 2016

What's the big deal? Perhaps the "S" stands for "speed" or "skinny" or "surf," because Lenovo's touting the machine's dimensions (2.4 pounds on a 13" screen-frame) and "up to three times faster WiFi connection speeds than standard WiFi on the ideapad 710S."
