Amazon Video Direct Launches to Take on YouTube

That’s how Amazon is positioning it’s just released new service called Amazon Video Direct. Essentially, anyone with a free account (it’s not tied to a normal customer account) can upload, monetize, and monitor performance of video.

Monetization opportunities are configurable, allowing participants to earn royalties based on hours streamed by Prime members, a revenue share for rentals, purchases, monthly subscriptions, or ad impressions—or any combination of these options.
