All-In-One Photo Fun

If you're still learning the intricacies of the digital camera you got last year for Christmas, roll up your sleeves—Epson has announced the digital camera's new best friend, the Epson Stylus Photo RX600. The photographic all-in-one device is designed to view, scan, copy, and print photographs and to restore old slides, negatives, and traditional printed photographs without a computer. Epson's most advanced scan-print-copy device to date, this machine gets an A+ for functionality.

The Epson Stylus Photo RX600 has a built-in 2.5" color display and control panel that lets you view and select images; see scans of prints, slides, and negatives; and crop or resize photos. You can print images on 4" x 6", 5" x 7", 8" x 10", letter-size, or panoramic-size paper. You can also use a repeat copy mode to make multiple copies of a single image onto one sheet of paper, producing business cards or wallet-size photos.

The Epson Stylus Photo RX600 has slots for various popular memory cards that you can plug in to print or save photos. The printer also lets you plug in an external CD-R or Zip drive to save images or print from those drives. Additionally, you can connect Epson's Bluetooth Print Adapter for wireless printing from a Bluetooth-enabled mobile camera phone, PDA, or computer.

Don't forget that the Epson Stylus Photo RX600 functions as a scanner and has a transparency adapter for scanning 35mm slides and negatives. The scanner includes color-restoration software, which lets you restore old slides, negatives, or prints.

You can also use the Epson Stylus Photo RX600 for everyday printing and copying. The machine costs around $349.00.
