30 Common Tasks You Perform Using the GUI that You Can Do Faster in Windows PowerShell

Last week at TechEd New Zealand in Auckland I presented the session "30 common tasks you perform using the GUI that you can do faster in Windows PowerShell" where I went through common tasks such IP address configuration, domain join, computer rename, firewall configuration, network configuration testing, role and feature install, virtual machine creation and showed how to perform them in PowerShell. One of the tips I provided the audience with was that I use a Razer gaming device, in this session a Razer Tartarus (shown below), to store my commonly used PowerShell commands. While it got a few laughs, I also got a lot of feedback that this was an idea that others were going to pursue.

If you're interested finding out more, including how to perform 30 common sysadmin tasks using PowerShell, you can review the session at: http://channel9.msdn.com/events/TechEd/NewZealand/2014/DCIM324
