After using the OEMPnpDriversPath entry in the Sysprep.inf file to install OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) drivers during a Windows 2000 installation, the drivers are NOT installed during the mini-setup portion of Setup?
If the DevicePath Value Name, a REG_EXPAND_SZ data type, at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion, contains a data value that exceeds 1,023 characters, Sysprep fails to append the data specified at the OEMPnpDriversPath entry of Sysprep.inf, and Plug and Play detection only searches the DevicePath.
To workaround this behavior:
1. Use Regedt32.exe to navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion.
2. Double-click the DevicePath Value Name.
3. Add each OEMPnpDriversPath entry, separated by a semi-colon (;). Use the SystemRoot% and %SystemDrive% environment variables instead of the relative paths that you used in Sysprep.inf.
