Speaker's IT/Dev Connection sessions:

Recently, we asked Bruce to give us a little information about himself. Here's what he shared:

WITPRO: Give us a brief introduction to Bruce Mackenzie-Low.

Bruce: With over 27 years of technical troubleshooting at HP/Compaq/Digital, I have seen more than my fair share of complex issues. Currently, I am providing 3rd level support on the Windows Server operating system, focusing on crash dump analysis, performance monitoring, and Failover Clusters. I am a recognized speaker in the IT industry having presented workshops in past years for IT/DEV Connections, HP Discover, VS Live and TechMentor conferences. I also periodically contribute to technical whitepapers on TechTarget's SearchWindowsServer.com web site. In my free time, I love the Colorado outdoors including mountain biking, snow biking, golfing, fishing and boating.

WITPRO: Describe the sessions you are presenting and why you feel the topic is important.

Bruce: In my pre-conference Windows Server 2012 Advanced Troubleshooting Workshop, attendees will gain hands on experience with the very best free tools that Microsoft offers for troubleshooting complex issues. They will learn how to configure your laptop to capture a crash, force a crash on a hung system, and other troubleshooting techniques that can be readily applied to your servers back at the office. This workshop is especially important as many of the tools and techniques to troubleshooting complex issues have changed for Windows Server 2012.  The new Windows Performance Toolkit and Debugger are specific to the latest versions of the operating system and leverage many of the built-in tracing features.

WITPRO: What should attendees expect to be able to take away from your sessions?

Bruce: Attendees will immediately be able to use the new found knowledge as we simulate failures and analyze data during the workshop. Then they'll be able to take these tools and techniques back to the office to troubleshoot the most challenging issues with confidence for years to come.
