One of the games I spend a lot of time on because I enjoy it immensely is Forza Horizon 2. I was a big fan of the first Forza Horizon and FH2 carries on that great experience.
I lived in Italy for 18 years while I was in the Navy and have driven around the European countryside and the scenery in FH2 reminds me of those drives. Some of the other drivers do as well!
There has already been one package of downloadable content (DLC) for FH2 called Storm Island which adds a lot of gameplay for $19.99 and those who are Forza Horizon VIP’s get it for half price.
This latest addition with Fast & Furious is different in that they are offering it for free until April 10th and then it will cost $9.99. This add-on is also not being called DLC because it is being labeled a standalone expansion. That means you will run this game without having to first open up FH2.
As you might have already figured out this expansion is tied to the Fast & Furious film franchise which will release its seventh film on April 3rd.
In Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious, you’re recruited by the Fast & Furious’ Tej Parker (voiced in the game by Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges) to help him acquire ten special cars for his Fast & Furious crew – the same cars you see in the film Furious 7.
Your goal is to acquire each of these cars by taking part in a series of automotive challenges inspired by the Fast & Furious films. From the 900-hp 1970 Dodge Charger to an armored 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and more, each of the cars in the Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious standalone expansion is both stunningly accurate and amazingly fun to drive.
The locales, scenery and gameplay will be familiar as you participate in these races to meet the ultimate goal. As for getting achievements your first reward for driving to a street race is 100 points of Gamerscore.
Ready for the next great thing about this game besides it being offered for free the first two weeks it is out? You do not have to have Forza Horizon 2 in order to download and play Fast & Furious standalone.
Personally I want to warn you though – it is a fantastic game and this little taster just might get you hooked on the bigger game!
