Microsoft to Prioritize Security Alerts

Microsoft plans to start classifying its security alerts to try to increase the chances that users and administrators will apply the most important updates. Systems will receive a classification of Internet server, intranet server, and client. A table at the Microsoft Web site below explains how Microsoft will designate alerts as critical, moderate, and low priority, based on the threat to different types of systems.
