Comshare Expedites BellSouth Reporting Requirements

BellSouth Telecommunications chose Comshare Decision to help streamline its regulatory reporting process. BellSouth’s Comshare Decision purchase will merge its mainframe processes, previously handled by two mainframe systems that fed a server system to produce accounting information for state and federal regulators. Comshare Decision has helped BellSouth reach its goal by allowing users to conduct account analysis and ad hoc querying, and create formal reports. “Our goal was to create a more streamlined environment with valuable reporting and analysis flexibility,” says Emily Jorgenson, BellSouth finance regulatory manager. “We wanted a software package that allowed us to house historical information, process large separations procedures monthly, and produce reports quickly.” BellSouth is a $25 billion communications services company, providing telecommunications, wireless communications, cable and digital television, advertising and publishing directory, and Internet and data services to nearly 36 million customers in 19 countries. BellSouth also provides telecommunications services in nine southeastern states.
