System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Support Center Releases to Open Beta

You might be glad to hear that here's something that has nothing to do with today's Microsoft CEO announcement. We're all happy for Satya, especially me, considering he was my personal and publicly announced pick since the very beginning. But it's time to get back to work. I'm sure once Satya lives through the pomp and circumstance of his day of coronation, he'll appreciate that his customers still have work to do.

A short time ago, Microsoft announced a new addition to the add-on tools available for Configuration Manager, called Support Center. Configuration Manager Support Center helps customers gather information about System Center 2012 Configuration Manager clients to better address issues when working with product support specialists. Configuration Manager Support Center includes two tools:

  • A tool that locates and gathers a bundle of log files associated with ConfigMgr client functions.

  • A tool that is used by product support specialists to examine log files and other client data for in-depth analysis of issues with ConfigMgr clients.

Configuration Manager Support Center is only available as a download from the Client Management Connect area of the Microsoft Connect site, so you have to have an authorized Connect account to access it. If you already have one, you can download the new tool here:
