As any smart business person does for their investments, developers should diversify their skills and the types of work they do in order to provide themselves a broad base of work and experience.

One area that is growing very quickly is bots and bot services.

These informational tools use machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data sets to provide a specific service.

In bot demos at various events, Microsoft has shown these typically as customer service bots that assist customers book a hotel room, rental car, flight, and other activities.

Microsoft Azure's Bot Service, which is still in preview, make the creation of these types of bots a straight forward process.

The Azure Bot Service offers several tools to not only create but also manage these bot based services.
