Earlier today I caught wind of a blog post on the Microsoft Exchange Team site that announced a wizard based troubleshooter that can help administrators recover Exchange Online user mailboxes.
It showed up in my RSS feeds but when I tried to access the teams blog site the article itself is no longer available.
However, the link in my RSS Reader is still active and takes you right to the web based wizard for recovering Exchange Online mailboxes.
That link, https://aka.ms/MailboxRecovery) , will take you to the Restore user mailboxes (mailbox recovery) in Exchange Online page where you will find a guided walkthrough for the process.
Microsoft recommends only administrators run this tool and familiarity with PowerShell is necessary.
Just visit the guided walkthrough, answer some key questions and then follow the steps.
According to Microsoft, this tool is for any Exchange Online account and not just hybrid customers and it works with Directory Synchronization or if your organization is just running in the cloud with no sync.
Hopefully, a tool like this is not necessary but it is a handy one to bookmark just in case you need it.
