Are you as a developer ready to connect with your customers in non-conventional ways?
Today during the Day 1 Build 2016 Keynote, Microsoft talked a lot about intelligent bots and associated with that discussion they have introduced the first ever Skype Developer Program.
This developer preview will let developers begin to build intelligent bots that can interact with Skype users.
- Today we are introducing Skype Bots—a new way to bring expertise, products, services and entertainment into your daily messaging on Skype.
- Skype Bots will come to life through messaging today, and in the future will be available for audio and video calling as well.
- Each Bot will enhance your Skype experience in its own way, bringing a new dimension into your everyday Skype chats by helping turn your ideas and plans into actions.
Alongside of this developer preview release, Microsoft has also released previews of the first bots for Skype.
Updated apps are available today for the Skype program on Windows, iOS and Android. This is a limited release for right now so the bots are only available in Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, India, New Zealand, Singapore, and the US.
I have posted a Hands on with Skype Bots over on the SuperSite for Windows if you are interested in checking out how they work in the Skype update.
You can go ahead and dive into the new Skype Bot Platform developer preview program and get started today.
