Enterprises large and small are relying on SharePoint to support ever-increasing information and workloads. The quantity and criticality of data and documents hosted in SharePoint means that downtime, data loss or corruption, and performance degradation become ever more problematic.
In recent years, Microsoft improved the storage optimization, backup and restore capabilities of SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013. But do these features really meet the business needs of your enterprise? Can you rely on the recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs) supported by out-of-box features to avoid the kind of data loss that produces a resume-generating event (RGE)?
The answers, unfortunately, are “no.”
In this highly valuable session, SharePoint MVP Dan Holme and Trevor Hellebuyck CTO at Metalogix will illuminate Microsoft’s definition of “data protection” and “granular restore”, and will identify the gaps that customers find between their requirements and the capabilities of SharePoint, SQL, and Data Protection Manager. Dan will clarify the issues, the technologies, and the difficult decisions you must make. While Trevor will demonstrate the solutions to overcome the difficulties. You’ll leave with a solid understanding of the scenarios, RTOs and RPOs that SharePoint supports, out-of-box, and where and how to augment your service to protect and optimize your SharePoint content.
