Penton Technology has a new content chief for Windows IT Pro, SQL Server Pro, Share Point Pro and Dev Pro serving our technology professionals.
Meet Michael Morisy. You'll see the first posts from him this week in conjunction with the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2015, which two of our other Penton Tech content leaders, Tom Kaneshige and Charlene O'Hanlon are covering.
A veteran tech journalist and entrepreneur Morisy, joins the Penton Tech team after spending the past year as a John S. Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford University, which champions innovation. He'll bring a whole new set of skills and perspectives to our coverage.
He is the founder of MuckRock, America’s first collaborative Freedom of Information Act filing website, which has broken news on everything from NSA contracts and drone usage to domestic surveillance and Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s FBI files. Previously, Morisy was the founding editor of BetaBoston for the Boston Globe, working with a team of journalists, designers, developers, and more to create the Greater Boston area’s preeminent tech and startup news site. Before that, he was a technology reporter and editorial director at various TechTarget websites, including running the question-and-answer site and blog network ITKnowledgeExchange. Morisy was also a network fellow at the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University and is a frequent speaker on public records, data-driven journalism, and startups.
You'll hear more from Morisy in the weeks ahead. He'll be working closely with Rod Trent and the rest of our editorial team and expert contributors to explore new coverage areas and advance the deep how-to technical content our readers appreciate. He'll also be seeking ideas and feedback about what you want to see on our IT sites and new classes you want to take as we expand our tech events and onsite event training, and our eLearning professional development programs.
